Prime Minister to meet with Swedish counterpart in Stockholm

Stenbock House, 17 January 2020 – Today, Prime Minister Jüri Ratas is heading on a visit to Sweden, where he will be meeting with his counterpart Stefan Löfven. A lunch with entrepreneurs and meetings with banks and the local Estonian community are also planned.

‘My first foreign visit this year will be to Sweden, which is a close partner of ours and an important market for our entrepreneurs. One of the biggest Estonian communities is also located there,’ said Ratas.

Today, the Prime Minister will also be meeting with representatives of SEB and Swedbank, in Stockholm. ‘With the banks, we will certainly discuss the fight against money laundering, which is very important to us. I also want to emphasise how important the accessibility of banking services is to our people,’ said the Prime Minister.

At the lunch, the Prime Minister will host entrepreneurs connected to Estonia, with whom he will discuss the investment environment here and economic relations in general.

In the evening, at the Estonian House in Stockholm, Jüri Ratas will be meeting with representatives of the Association of Estonians in Sweden and of cultural societies, the Headmaster of the Estonian School and the Head of the Estonian Preschool, and a reception will be held for representatives of the Estonian community.
