From 30 April to 1 May 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edgars Rinkēvičs, will be on a working visit in Poland. Meetings are planned with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Jacek Czaputowicz, and the Secretary of State for European Affairs at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Konrad Szymański. The ministers will discuss bilateral cooperation between the two countries, regional cooperation and developments in the region, as well as sharing views on security policy and EU-related topics of current importance.
On 1 May, Edgars Rinkēvičs will take part in the official meeting hosted by the Polish Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the EU enlargement in 2004, which will feature a discussion on the achievements and experience of the Member States in the EU, as well as the EU’s future and priorities for the next institutional period. Senior officials from Lithuania, Estonia, Romania, Czech Republic, Croatia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Malta, Slovakia, Cyprus, and Slovenia will attend the meeting at the prime minister level. At the event, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edgars Rinkēvičs, will represent the Latvian Prime Minister.
The Minister’s interviews for the Polish media have been planned in the course of the visit.
